Chapter 1: An Unexpected Guest
There I was, sitting at the computer
minding my own business when all of a sudden, all my alarms went off.
Even my cat was yelling, “We have an unexpected guest!”. Now,
you would expect an ordinary boy to just jump up and turn around, but
not me. I jumped up and did a back flip and landed right in front of
…. no one? I turned around, no one. I turned around again, I
thought I was dreaming. I saw a floating rag! The rag was coming
closer, I pinched myself. I had no idea why or what it was doing
there but I sure did after it came right up to my nose, and my head
hit the floor.
Chapter 2: TSA
I woke up in a white room, about 10
people were surrounding me. 9 were in black jackets (all male) but 1
was dressed up in a white jacket. I jumped up out of my bed. I soared
into the air and stuck my legs out like I was doing the splits and
kicked 2 of the men over. One went to tackle me but I dodged him,
letting him slide across the smooth white tiled floor. Then suddenly
I couldn't compete, 5 of them pointed pistols at me. I slowly put my
hands up “Who are you people, and what do you want”, I said.
“We are The Secret Agency also known
as TSA. My name is Tessa and I am the boss around here”, replied
the lady in the white jacket.
Now all the bulky men had moved, I
could finally see what the room looked like. It was very white and
smelt of sweat. It was full of security guards, computers and one
VERY big screen.
I still wasn't sure if I was dreaming
or not.
“What do you want from me?', I
demanded.
“We need your help.”
“MY help? For what?”, I said.
“Well, we need you to track down and
capture an assassin who is probably killing someone right now”, the
woman said as if it was the easiest thing to do in the world.
“ARE YOU CRAZY? FOR STARTERS I DON'T
EVEN KNOW YOU. I AM 10 YEARS OLD AND YOU'RE ASKING ME, ALEX MCGRATH
TO TRACK DOWN AN ASSASSIN THAT COULD KILL ME? IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE
SAYING?” I screamed at the top of my lungs.
“Yep!”, she said.
Chapter 3: Meeting the Team
After lots of persuading and talking, I
finally got settled in. But there was one problem, I didn't know any
one else except Tessa. The first person I was about to meet was the
co-leader of the foundation.
On the way to his office, I saw lots of
hi-tech equipment, I also saw lots and lots of robots. Some were
hovering in mid-air, some were jogging on what looked like robotic
human legs, and some were even flying just above our heads. We
reached his office.
He looked in his late 30s and strong
enough to lift an elephant. He had muscles on muscles. It turns out
he HAS lifted an elephant!
“Who's this”, he grunted.
“This is the boy we were talking
about earlier”, replied Tessa.
“Ahhh, Alex, how lovely to meet you”,
he said suddenly putting on a fake smile as if I were two years old.
“Now I bet you're wondering why you saw a floating rag about an
hour ago?”.
“Yes Mr...”, I paused to let him
finish off my sentence.
“Struf”, he said “We got one of
our fine agents to bring you here. We cloaked him with state of the
art tech, he carried a rag with chloroform on it, and, well, you know
the rest.”
He continued, “He did note one thing
about your cat.”
I jumped out of my seat. “WHAT” I
yelled. Anger and rage surged through my body.
“Calm down.” he said.
I was still standing and breathing like
a bull.
“He's in safe hands”, he said very
firmly.
“Well then I'll chop the hands off
the person that's holding him”, I said through gritted teeth. He
raised an eyebrow. He pushed a button on the intercom. “Bring in
the cat”, he said. “Yes sir”, a voice replied on the intercom.
My face was red and I was still
furious at them for even thinking about touching my cat. About 10
seconds later, a floating robot came in, holding my black talking
cat, Texta. I rushed forwards, with my arms outstretched. My cat
jumped out of the robots arms. He landed in my arms! Joy filled my
body. “What did they do to you?” I demanded. “I don't know
really. I woke up on a white bench. The suddenly that robot come in
and scooped me up”, replied my cat, nodding towards the hovering
robot.
“Well off you go”, said Mr Struf.
“To where?”, I asked.
“Wherever I take you” said Tessa.
I spun around to face Tessa, she was
already marching out the door. I raced after her. “I wonder where
I'm going next”, I thought. We raced past lots of people in TSA
uniforms. We reached a lab that had a warning sign.
WARNING: Testing in
progress.
Tessa barged right past me heading
towards the sound proof door. “but...”, arhh, never mind, I
sighed. Stepping in I saw a frizzy haired man in a white dirty
jacket. BOOM!!! A huge puff of smoke burst out of the machine that
the frizzy haired guy was working on. He spun around, the front of
his hair was straight up and down and as black as ash from a campfire
at night. So was the rest of his face. He pulled up a pair of
goggles. “Oh hello Tessa” he said in the craziest accent I have
ever heard.
“Gary, would you be so kind as to
give our new friend here, Alex, the standard TSA equipment?”, Tessa
asked the crazy haired fellow.
“Yes, yes, Alex, our new field
agent”, he said in the same weird voice.
The man sped over to a drawer marked
“Field Agent Equipment” and started rummaging through it.
Questions zoomed around in my brain like they were having a pool
party. What was he doing? Why was he going through a box that said
“Field Agent Equipment”? But there wasn't time to answer them
all.
He eventually came out with a watch, a
skateboard and a backpack with a skull that was on fire on the back.
He handed them to me, “I'll leave you to find out what they do”,
he said, tapping the side of his nose. “Oh, your cat, I almost
forgot!”, said Gary.
“Yeah, what about me?” my cat,
Texta said a bit annoyed.
A second later Gary came back from his
desk. With a dirty hand he clipped what looked like an exo-skeleton
with four legs onto Texta. Suddenly it vanished from the cat's back!
“It is only seen when in use”, Gary explained. “Now, think that
you are soaring though the air” he said to the cat. Texta closed
his eyes. QUWWRR!! Fire burst out of nowhere, my cat soared through
the air like a fire eagle. Excitement flooded through my body. I
felt amazed at what MY cat was going. Then, after one whole minute
of flying, he finally touched down. “That was freaking awesome”
yelled my cat.
Chapter 4: My First Encounter
Ca-Clink. I heard a very faint noise as
we were walking out of the door of the lab. DDDDDDD!! The sound of
machine-gun fire pounded in my ears! People were dropping like flies.
I slipped on my watch. A 3D holographic projection floated above my
watch. (Someone was still shooting and agents were still dropping to
the floor). I selected a random button. When I pushed it, something
came up, a computerised voice said “Please select an arm
structure”. I pushed a picture that looked like four robotic metal
arms. It was labelled 'stability'. The voice moved on. “Please
select a hand structure”. I selected a picture of a shield with
four spikes, one on each compass point.
TING, TING, TING, three bullets bounced
off my newly formed shield. Now there were only a dozen people with
some kind of thing coming out of their watch (the agents, I
realised). Whoever was firing, had stopped but people were still
dropping on the ground. Now there were six.... no only three left.
Me, Tessa and Texta my cat.
I figure came out of the shadows and
flashed across the room towards me. Clang! A knife hit my shield.
The assassin fled. “Stay on guard, he could be anywhere” yelled
Tessa. Texta was hovering in mid-air with two mini guns folded out
of his back. Rich blood stains were still dripping down the white
walls all around me. The hall was empty.
Chapter 5: The Bullies
To be continued.
